OPTICAL DISCOUNT CENTRE LENS OPTIONSAll of our glasses are sold as package deals. This means that the price on the frame includes standard, single vision, hard coated lenses. All of our lenses have a FREE Hard Coat for scratch resistance. If you want extra lens options, outlined below, then there is an additional fee on top of the package price. For example: If you choose a frame from the $99 package range, and you want Bifocals at $60 per pair, it will cost you $159

- Bifocal Lenses
Bifocals
are lenses with a line in the middle. Reading vision is when
looking below the line. Distance vision is when looking above the line.
- Multifocal Lenses
Multifocals,
also called graduated or progressive lenses, have no line on the lens,
but the top of the lens is for distance vision and the bottom is for
reading. Some people may take a few days or a week to get
used to
them.
- Transition Stock Lenses
Transition lenses go dark outside and lighten up inside. They are as dark as sunglasses outside, and are about half as dark as sunglasses when driving. Most single vision transition glasses are made using Transsition stock lenses.
- Transition Grind Bifocal Lenses
- Transition Grind Multifocal Lenses
Transition
lenses go dark outside and lighten up inside. They are as
dark as
sunglasses outside, and are about half as dark as sunglasses when
driving. In some cases, single vision lenses have to be grind
lenses as well depending on power range and size of the frame.
- High Index Lenses
If
you have a high prescription then you may need high index lenses to
keep the thickness down. The price of this depends on the
prescription. You will need to have your eyes tested so that
your
prescription can be accurately
determined.
We can cut lenses into your
own frame, but we need to make sure that your frame is in good
condition, not cracked, out of shape or damaged, and that they are
suitable for the lenses, and are not "ready made reading glasses"
frames.
LENS SPRAYS
Try our efficient Optical Discount Centre Lens Cleaner. Spray each lens with a single spray, using our ODC Lens Cleaner, and gently wipe with a tissue, just ensure that the tissue is non-moisturising. Do not use a tissue by itself without a spray cleaner, or you may scratch the surface of your lenses.
